bolts on a strut to hold a brake line or speed sensor. Parts term would just be “Bracket”

Kinja'd!!!

idk, i’m hella sleepy today. Sorry if my replies to OPPO/LaLD post seem slurred.

COuld also be a piece for a door check/hinge because of the bumps. Not a tradition modern style check though. On a green car obvs

And he SCORES! Couldn’t have told you what it was called, though.

This was on a pump nozzle near my house. Thing’s supposed to be spring-loaded so that it pops out of the way. When it’s not spring-loaded, it just stays there and could very likely lead to a spill. I reported it to the station manager, and to the Clean Air Board and two weeks later, still broken. So I removed it myself and brought it home.

SCORE! Supposed to be spring-loaded, to take it out of the way when disengaged. The spring was broken. After reporting it to the station owner and to the Clean Air Board, two weeks later, still in service, so I removed it myself to avoid a gasoline spill.

Exactly, but it has a much more elegant name. I removed it from a local gas station’s nozzle so that there wouldn’t be a spill accident. Thing’s supposed to be spring-loaded and the spring was broken. The spring is necessary to get the dingle out of the way when it’s not needed.

I’m well, thanks. My (pretend) daughter got a flat Sunday night in her Integra. She hit a cut the sidewall. So I took her to her car on Monday morning and we took the rim and got a used tire. She had no spare, so I tracked her one down. I found a donut spare, and all ended well, but darned if the entire project didn’t take about six hours.

Driving up to Portland tomorrow to visit my wife’s sister’s family. And eat and hopefully have one or two really good laughs.

You?

Wow, that’s an old school pump handle.... can’t say I’ve seen one of those lately. Here’s what I’m expecting these days:

good call to make an issue of it with the station, rather than leaving it for some unsuspecting customer to make a toxic fuel lake

The truth lies somewhere in the middle. The blue nozzle is obsolete, but it has the same concept. The nozzle from which I removed the trigger catch had it mounted differently.
